The church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Gare in Paris was built between 1855 and 1859 by the abbot Louis Parguel and the architect Claude Naissant in the neo-Romanesque style. Located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, this parish church takes its name from the district in which it is situated, the Gare district.

Today, it needs some restoration work to make it more welcoming and accessible:

  • Restoration of the entrance to the church
  • Installation of an interior lift to make the church accessible to people with reduced mobility, pushchairs and people who have difficulty climbing stairs

We are working on the restoration of this French heritage site in collaboration with the company Degaine.

The construction site

The restoration work will be carried out in a single phase and is scheduled to last 10 months from March 2022 to January 2023.

Tubesca-Comabi was part of the renovation of this building, starting with installing the scaffolding on 7 March 2022 for a period of 3 weeks with 7 fitters.

A material storage area was set up at the foot of the scaffolding on either side of the church to make it easier to supply the fitters with materials.

The dismantling of the scaffolding will take place at the end of January 2023 when all the restoration work is completed.

The chosen Tubesca-Comabi solution

The chosen solution for this project was our COMABI M368 multi-directional class 6 (600kg/m2) scaffolding, measuring one metre wide. The use of this material means that we can work on 100% of the geometric and architectural forms within the church.

Approximately 20 tonnes of equipment was installed to climb up to 24 metres high. The structure has been entirely designed to facilitate access for the different trades that will be involved in the renovation.

A Unistep access staircase conforming to EN 12811 – Decree 2004-924 was installed to facilitate movement on the structure.
